Day 1 on the Dukan Diet

Author: Angie Labels::

I am going to give the Dukan Diet ago. I have read the book, noted the sentance which said it was good for anemia sufferers, and how not to take oat bran with supplements such as iron. So, am thinking will use the oatbran galette as a snack in the afternoon. I am grateful I can still drink tea (which, incidently, also stops the absorbtion of iron) as I could not survive a day without my cuppa! I am also going to start exercising again. I am not ready to go back to the boxing gym yet but it is certainly my aim to do so. I am going to add daily walks to my routine to include walking up steep hills in a bid to improve my stamina and breathing which are shot to pieces due to my anemia. I am going to skip daily too (a good boxers exercise). And I WILL take my iron as prescribed, something I hate to do but it allows me to get through the days without headaches and fatigue - almost. Although I am concerned about my new advised regime of only taking the iron 10 days in each month. This is because I have been told I need to take the iron for the rest of my days. Yuck! I am going to go to to the Docs this week to arrange another blood test and ask him for a medical certificate so I can do the Graciosa inter island swim in September. Gotta start training, but the sun needs to come out first otherwise the sea will feel toooo chilly.
So, as you can see I am full of good intentions but will it happen. YES! I am dertmined to loose weight so I can get fit again and feel good about myself and take part in all the activities I want to.
But why the Dukan diet? It just makes sense, and seems very do'able. I have two months off work now as it is the summer holidays so that seems an ideal time to start. My biggest worries are fitting it into the kids routine, we always eat together so need to match the menus to include them. I am also concerned at the choice available to me on this rock that I live on as it is very limited. Oh, and of course the cost. We are a family of 5 so normally stick to pasta and veg as it is so much cheaper, especially here.
Well, enough rambling. Today I weighed myself (had to buy some scales first!) and it was not pretty. I have had breakfast, a 0 fat yoghurt, and i gotta say, yuck! I am not a yoghurt fan anyway and certainly not in the morning. Think I will have to have scrambled eggs in the future.
Weight on the 5th July 2010: 82.1kg (181Ibs, 12.9 stone)
And this is my weight loss plan, although I intend to do the attack for a week - 7 days.
